It is located at a distance of 6 km from the Middle Bridge over the Kir River. Today's village is located below the excavation site of ancient Drivatium. It was built in the Roman period as a settlement on the Shkodër-Kosovo road and in late antiquity it was one of the chain fortresses that protected Shkodra in the 9th century. Drishti became an important fortification of the kingdom of Zeta and depended on the Diocese of Tivar. Drishti Castle was built in the 13th century as a Byzantine fortress. The city reached the peak of development in the 14th century until it achieved independence from Shkodra. In 1442 Drishti fell into the hands of Venice, then it was taken by Skanderbeg and finally conquered by Turit in 1478. The castle is located on a hill 800 meters high. Within the walls of the castle there are 11 village houses that form a neighborhood.
